Providing in-home occupational therapy services across the lifespan.

Holistic. Sensory-based. Trauma-informed.

The Wandering OT, Alison Laskay, specializes in providing personalized in-home occupational therapy (OT) to neurodivergent children, teens, and adults as well as clients of all ages experiencing physical disabilities. She has a background in working with recently discharged adults in home health, working in behavioral health clinics, collaborating with other providers, and with performing home assessments. Ongoing treatment visits focus on activities of daily living, motor skills, sensory processing, home adaptations/ modifications, self regulation, social emotional regulation, and executive functions.

Occupational Therapy in Your Home

In home OT visits have a number of benefits over clinic-based sessions. It allows for the client to be comfortable in their own environment, reducing the stress of making multiple transitions to new or unknown places and having to figure out how to access those places. Treatments can be tailored not only the client, but also the family schedule and unique situation. The therapist is able to visually assess any potential barriers and brainstorm solutions for your specific needs in your home and in the community at large.

Advocacy and Education

Navigating the special needs systems, IEPs, and community resources can be challenging. Alison has extensive experience with special education and the IEP process in the school district as well as collaborating with other community partners to maximize client accessibility to what they need. It is important for client families to feel empowered with knowing what their options and rights are.
